Week 9: When designing isn’t the hard part

This week made me realise something unexpected- designing isn’t always the hardest part… working around everything else is. I was still building on the project from last week, trying to translate the moodboards into actual outputs. That part had its usual ups and downs, but what stood out more was everything around it. Working from home sounds chill, but it comes with its own set of issues. You can’t just turn your chair and ask a doubt. Sometimes you sit with a question for way longer than needed, or you move ahead assuming something… and then have to redo it later. Feedback loops feel slower, and even small miscommunications can throw things off. It also made me realise how important it is to communicate properly as a designer. Not just showing work, but explaining the thinking behind it clearly enough that someone else gets it without being in the same room. This week wasn’t about big breakthroughs in design, but more about understanding the process around it and how much of good work depends on clarity, timing, and communication, not just creativity. However, some of my works, made under the guidance of my seniors at SST are showing on the client's grid and I'm happy about it, like there's proof of my work.
